Auditing Undergraduate Courses

“Audit” means you earn no credit and generally do not participate in homework and exams. This enjoyable, low-pressure environment provides the added benefit of interacting with younger college students. Select from hundreds of courses in more than 30 academic departments.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) members may audit two undergraduate courses each term. Additional undergraduate courses may be audited in the same term for a fee of $25 each.

An associate membership option is available if you wish ONLY to audit courses. Associate members pay $55 for each course audit and are not eligible for other OLLI courses or Pitt benefits.

You may audit courses not listed in the OLLI catalog but listed in the University's schedule of classes by securing permission from the instructor to audit the courses. View the complete University Schedule of Classes.

Courses from the following departments are not available for audit:

Computer Science
Film Studies
Physical Education
Studio Arts  

Summer 2012 Dates and Deadlines

The Osher auditing program follows the University of Pittsburgh Athletic calendar.  The University's summer sessions schedule is unlike other terms.  Classes are held during 4-week, 6-week, and 12-week sessions, as well as the entire term.  Starting May 7, sessions begin and end at various times throughout the summer.
