Faculty

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute courses are taught by current and emeriti faculty and experts from the community. They enjoy teaching adults who value exploring new ideas, learning for the joy of it, and meeting other like-minded adults. And, faculty appreciate that there are no tests to prepare or grades to give.

Our courses typically meet for an hour and 50 minutes once a week for five weeks. Two five-week sessions are held each term: fall, spring, and summer.

Interested in teaching?

If you are interested in teaching a course, please submit a course proposal electronically following the Course Proposal Outline (PDF). The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute curriculum committee reviews the course proposals and selects courses. Course proposals can be submitted at any time.

Current and Former Faculty

If you are interested in teaching a course, access the Instructor Availability Form using the active link under Dates and Deadlines.

Please complete a Course Proposal Outline (PDF) only if you are submitting a new course for consideration.

Study Groups

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute also offers study groups led by member volunteers. Study groups have limited enrollment and expect enrollees to be active participants in their learning. The study group leader is a facilitator who doesn't need to be an expert in the subject but should have an informed interest in the topic. Study groups meet within the same timeframe as Osher Lifelong Learning Institute courses. Persons interested in leading a study group should submit a Study Group Proposal.
